PROJECT MANAGER

Description:

Project managers are responsible for assisting with planning and overseeing/managing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and, if applicable, within budget. Project managers ensure that the project plan is implemented and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.

 

With an emphasis on process and systems, the person in this position will be charged with extensive project management, and will work across all team functions to support grant making and program efforts. 

 

This position reports to the Program Director and works closely with other program staff (Directors and Managers), Communications Team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create yearly programming (Project Timeline) in Collaboration with Program Director

  • Support Project Director to ensure that all and programming efforts operate in a smooth and efficient manner

  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner

  • Manage any grant process and funding for projects

  • If applicable, manage the project's budget

  • Manage the development, editing, production and distribution of online and print materials associated with programs managed

  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed

  • Fulfill other duties as requested by the Program Director

 

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the G-Suite (Google's drive)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work remotely and meet deadlines

  • Ability to commit for one year

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Description:

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of social media platforms including: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

 

Essentially you will be creating graphics that capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. This will require you to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate ideas into design. If you can communicate well and work remotely as part of a team, we’d like to meet you.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Study design briefs and determine requirements.

  • Conceptualize visuals based on requirements.

  • Create eye-catching designs for a variety of social media platforms.

  • Work with the content writers and Communications Director to produce the final design.

  • Amend designs after feedback

  • Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven graphic designing experience

  • A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics

  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)

  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work remotely and meet deadlines

  • Ability to commit for six (6) months

CONTENT WRITER

Description:

We are looking for a Content Writer to join our Communications team.  The Content Writer responsibilities include conducting thorough research on organization-related topics, generating ideas for new content types and proofreading articles before publication. If you’re familiar with producing online content and have an eye for detail, we’d like to meet you. Feel free to share samples of your work or portfolio of your published articles, along with your application.

 

Ultimately, we want you to deliver quality writing pieces that appeal to our audiences, attract customers and boost brand awareness.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research organization-related topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies)

  • Proofread and edit blog posts before publication

  • Collaborate with Communications Director and Graphic designer illustrate articles

  • Write content for social media

  • Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics

  • Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone)

  • Update website content as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter or similar role

  • Portfolio of published articles

  • Experience doing research using multiple sources

  • Familiarity with web publications

  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English

  • Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. Wix)

  • Ability to work remotely and meet deadlines

  • Ability to commit for six (6) months

COMMUNITY MANAGER

Description:

We are looking for a qualified Community manager to join our team. If you are a tech-savvy professional, experienced in social media management and community management, we would like to meet you.

 

Our ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills and should be a ‘people person’ with great customer service skills and the ability to moderate online and offline conversations with our community.

 

Ultimately, you should be able to act as the face and voice of our brand and manage all community communications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Post text, image and video content on all social media accounts

  • Respond to comments and customer queries in a timely manner

  • Monitor and report on feedback and online reviews

  • Build relationships with our audience online.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as a community manager

  • Experience launching community initiatives (e.g. building an online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series and writing an email newsletter)

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Hands on experience with social media management for brands

  • Ability to stay up-to-date with digital technology trends

  • Ability to work remotely and meet deadlines

  • Ability to commit for six (6) months

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Description:

We are looking for a Director of Finance to oversee all financial aspects of our organization and drive the organization’s financial strategy and planning. She or he will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the organization as well as finding possible avenues of funding

 

Responsibilities:

The Director of finance  responsible for ensuring the financial growth and accountability of the organization. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Driving the financial planning of the organization by analyzing its performance and risks

  • Develop a fundraising strategy and manage relationships with partner and donors

  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis

  • Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines

 

.Qualifications:

  • BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field

  • Proven experience in similar role

  • An analytic mind with strategic ability

  • Must have great written and oral communication skills  

  • Must be self-motivated

  • Must have a desire to change the African Continent for the better

  • Must be available for weekly virtual meetings with the team and bi-monthly check ins
