My name is Oyindamola Mercy Adisa and I am from Nigeria. Africa is my home and no matter how far away I am from home, a piece of me will always yearn for my motherland. To the rest of the world, Africa might be a continent ravaged by war, economic disparity and disease, but to me, Africa is a continent of unexplored opportunities, a continent that has immense potential for greatness. My Africa may not be someone else's and the diversity in culture adds a certain richness and color to the continent that I struggle to find anywhere else in the world.
My Africa is also greatly misunderstood by the rest of the world, and ever since the world powers divided her up and plundered her wealth, she has been crying out to tell her own story. Is the world willing to hear her own version of events?
'Until the lion tells his side of the story, the tale of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.'-African Proverb
